The Last of Us and Stranger Things headline Halloween Horror Nights
With today's announcement from Universal, the long rumored Stranger Things return to HHN has been confirmed! This comes just weeks after the announcement that Sony's The Last of Us is also coming to the event on both coasts of the United States. Both join Chucky, which was announced on Halloween last year for both Orlando and Hollywood.
The announcement today also confirmed what has long been expected, that this year's house will focus on season 4 of Stranger Things, meaning Vecna could be lurking behind any corner within the house. The Last of Us is based on the video game, and not the popular HBO show. This has confused some people, as the television show was a breakout hit, however everything we've heard makes it seems like it is a case of having less people to report to in regards of creating and running the house. As for Chucky, it will be based on the television show of the same name, featuring the continuing adventures of the Good Guy gone bad.
Heading over into rumors, it sounds like there will be three more announcements in the near future for shared properties on both coasts. The Exorcist is seemingly making its return, with both coasts doing a house based on the original movie, and not the upcoming Blumhouse movie like some thought initially. The final shared property will be the Universal Monsters themselves, with rumors stating that this year's house will take place in Paris. This would make it seem likely that the Phantom and the Hunchback will be used since the house will be in their neighborhood. The final shared announcement will be tied to M3GAN, which rumors hold will have a roaming hoard of the titular character, scaring guests along the paths of the parks.
As people who visit Orlando every year for the event, and would love to visit Hollywood at some point, this year seems to be shaping up as a great one. Tickets are available at halloweenhorrornights.com for both coasts, and if you decide to step through the gates during this Halloween season, we hope to see you inside the fog!
